NEWS: From January 2009, the whole of the selling price goes to the charity.
COMING SOON: more recipes, more items, details of occasional eBay listings (as seller 48emw).
WELCOME TO DR HADWEN VINTAGE
Finding myself short of income but flush with possessions, I decided to have a go at setting up a Web site. Realizing that this would also give me an opportunity of supporting a favourite charity, I also decided to commit to giving half of the selling price to the Dr Hadwen Trust for each sale [now 100 per cent: see NEWS above].Please note that DR HADWEN TRUST DO NOT OWN OR FUND THIS SITE; the relationship is informal and voluntary. I am a life member, but I take individual responsibility for this site.
NEW FOR 2009: I will be listing some items on eBay (with 100 per cent of the sale price going to the Trust; I'm seller `48emw') so watch this space if you are interested.
Further information on the Dr Hadwen Trust, who support medical research without using any animal testing, can be found at Dr Hadwen Trust
BUYING PROCEDURE
I hope you will find an item that you wish to buy. If you do, please e-mail me at emily.wolfe@blueyonder.co.uk in the first instance; I will then mark the item as `being sold' and it will be despatched to you as soon as your cheque has cleared. Please do not attempt to send the cheque before you receive my confirmatory e-mail! I will provide the name and address for your cheques in the e-mail. I'll e-mail you when the cheque arrives. (If it doesn't arrive within a week, I'll relist the item.)Sorry---UK buyers only. If you live in the BS6 area, I may be able to trot round with your parcel and save you the postage. If you are making more than one purchase, I may be able to combine postage; ask me about this in your e-mail.
NEW for May '08: In response to a request, I have added `NV' after the item number if I think it likely that the item contains wool, silk or leather.
I am hardly ever away; if I am away for more than two days, I'll state it on the site.
POSTAGE & PACKING
I do not intend to make money from the P&P. I recommend recorded delivery, as this is safest for both of us, but if it is not convenient for you to sign for a delivery, I can send by ordinary post. Please be careful opening parcels; to save packaging, there will be no inner wrapper.
RETURNS POLICY
No returns unless otherwise stated in the item description. I will not grossly misrepresent items; they will be reasonably accurately described I promise. (In particular, vintage items are identified by era to the best of my ability; I have been collecting vintage clothes for over 30 years, but I can't claim to be an expert or infallible.)
ITEMS MISSING IN THE POST
The post is very reliable where I live, so I anticipate no problems at my end. If an item does go missing, I will provide full details (postal reference number/certificate of postage number), but you will have to tackle the Post Office yourself. If you want the item insured, please let me know, and we can agree a price for this.
CONDITION OF ITEMS
Most items are not new, so please don't buy if pristine condition is required. In particular, vintage items are likely to have some damage, but I aim to describe anything serious. Ask me to e-mail you more photos if you are in any doubt. Some items smell a bit `charity shop', so please take into account that you may need to deal with this before wearing.
HISTORY OF SALES
There are many more items awaiting listing; please keep looking. I will list the sales as they happen, so that you can see how much has been donated to the Dr Hadwen Trust.
